Craft Barn "Alpha/Dictionary" Challenge

The next letter for the Craft Barn challenge is "D" and use the colour Pink.
My first thought was to use one of my favourite stamp set with Dandelions, but I can't find them....grrrr. I definitely have to do a spring clean through my craft stuff soon. :)

So I decided to go for dragonflies instead.
I took a kitchen paper towel and sprayed it with 3 different Dylusion inks (including pink :)) and when dry I glued it on a cardstock. I took a dragonfly stamp from Crafty Individual and stamped it all over the page with 3 different VersaFine inks.
Then I used a smaller dragonfly stamp 3 times and cut it out with the matching die. Coloured them with Distress Ink, used a Gelly Roll Pen for the wings and added them to the page. I also put some rhinestones on them.
And finally I added the word definition.

Sorry for not visiting your blogs lately, I've started a new job and that keeps me busier than I thought/hoped. I will have a look at all your great creations tomorrow though.
Happy weekend and thanks for looking :)

  1. A lovely spring background for these beautiful dragonflies!

  2. Wow - not tried that paper towel thing - great texture! What glue do you use to fix to card? Hope you are enjoying the new job!

  3. pretty card. The background is great and I would never have guessed you did it on a paper towel.

  4. I realize I'm late visiting and the Craft Barn has already announced their next letter, but I vowed to visit everyone and even though I'm late, I'm here now. I am SO sorry I wasn't able to visit sooner, since I always look forward to seeing what you create. It seems we are both caught in real life time constraints right now.

I really adored how you took us through the steps you used to create this gorgeous entry. I was blown away that you used a paper towel for these dragonflies. What a great way to think outside the box.

  5. Beautiful project! Colours are lovely and of course my favourite... dragonflies! Thank you for joining in The Craft Barn Challenge.

  6. Very pretty. Love the background. Hugz

  7. What a great idea using kitchen towel for the background. It makes a beautiful backdrop for the dragonflies. Well done on winning the challenge.
