The Craft Barn: Q & L Challenge

It's the penultimate challenge at the Craft Barn already. The challenge this time is to use the words HEART and/or RISK in a quote or lyric.
I finally was able to use a song of one of my all time favourite bands: INTERPOL. The song is called "Slow Hands" and the lyrics are: "Can you see what you've done to my heart? And Soul? This is a wasteland now"

I've made a mistake with the lyrics on my page, but hey...I left it like it is. :)

For the background I've used a wash of different Distress inks. I've made a heart template and used Grunge Paste mixed with silver/grey acrylic paint with it. After it dried I've added some spiderweb stamps and sticked the hands on. I recently bought the Stampotique girl and thought she is just perfect for this project. So she went on in the middle of the heart. I drew a border around the page, wrote the lyrics around the heart and added some more spiderwebs.

The stamps I've used are from Stampotique and Tim Holtz.
Looking forward to see what everybody else did. So will pop over to the Craft Barn blog now.
Thanks for all the lovely comments on my journey page. Very much appreciated.
Thanks for looking :)

  1. It was all going so well... Lovely inky background, yummy texture, my fave colours and then you had to spoil it all with the Stampotique girl LOL!!! I suppose she makes a good illustration of the quote though...
(I find Stampotique is a bit like Marmite, you either love it or hate it)

    1. Sorry *LOL* I guess you are right with the Marmite. I love them lots :)

  2. I think she fits beautifully with the rest of your fab page.

  3. Love the background colors! This has been a fun challenge and I really appreciate your visits to my blog and comments.

  4. Fab composition, love everything about it - I even like the Stampotique girl, but then I love Marmite too! ;D

  5. Funny isn't it - I'm not a fan of Stampotique but I think she fits this well. A great quote and great coloured design!

  6. Love all the elements and colours GREAT PAGE xx

  7. HUGE Stampotique fan here, love Girl With Heart Purse, she isn't in my collection but she should be. GWHP looks fantastic on your page surrounded with the lyrics you have chosen, a wonderful page :-) xxx

  8. Fabulous page. I love the girl. I don't have any of those stamps but always wish I did when I see work like this :o))

  9. I'm with Craftyfield. Although I've never tasted Marmite (not sure you can get it in the US), I've never been too fond of these images. And I've seen a BUNCH of them!

What I DID like was the symmetry of the page, and the girl actually helped contribute to it. That was a nice way to illustrate your lyrics.

  10. Lovely entry - beautiful background and a gorgeous stamp!!!

  11. Sorry I am so late for this one! Great page and quote and fab stamp for this one! xx

  12. Great background for your focal point - a super page.

  13. I'm also not into Stampotique personally, but I like your page nonetheless.
