The Craft Barn: Q & L Challenge
It's time for the new challenge at the Craft Barn. The challenge is to use the words DESTINY and/or GIFT in a quote or lyric.
The quote I went for is from Leonardo Da Vinci: "I have always felt it is my destiny to build a machine that would allow man to fly."

I made another page in my art journal for this one. I found a great set of Da Vinci stamps from Stamp Addicts which are perfect for the quote.

I've made the main background using brown Distress Ink and a crackle background stamp from Crafty Individuals. I prepared the second background with a mix of Gesso and orange glaze. I then added some Distress Inks to it and used the Da Vinci background stamp with Staz-On inks.
I've heat embossed Da Vinci's head and printed out the quote and added both to the background.
Looking forward to see what everybody is doing with the new prompts.
Thanks for looking :)

  1. My friend Kathy and I did an altered book exchange one year. She worked in my book and I in hers. Her theme was DaVinci. I had NO idea there were stamps that had this image of DaVinci. Kathy got the images from somewhere on the internet and we spit them. I remember using that same image. What a coincidence. Since now I know there are stamps you can buy, I may have to get a set for her for Christmas.

You did a fantastic job with the quote and the artwork. Beautiful entry.

Did I see a photo of you at the stamp show last week?

  2. Loving those stamps, so perfect for the quote.

  3. Perfect stamps for this quote! Love the old age look of the page with crackle and distressed colours...

  4. Loving the page and stamps - I almost chose that quote too :)

  5. I have that background Da Vinci stamp and never used it. You've inspired me to dust it off and ink it up. A fabulous page.

  6. Great page and the stamps are just right for your quote! xx

  7. What a fantastic page, everything is just wright.

  8. Beautiful page! Da Vinci was responsible for so many inventions. This stamp set is just perfect to highlight his flying machine!

Thanks for leaving a comment. Very much appreciated. :)
